What is an Among Friends Conference?
We are all in the same ship sailing towards Heaven’s shores. It is one of the many ways that God has set up the body of Christ to be able to encourage one another. He knows our humanity and he knows that life can hurt so badly down here. When we come together we see and hear about His faithfulness, provision and healing and it lifts our faith.
We share our stories and the heart leans in a little closer and listens more intently:
- She experienced the very same thing.
- I too feel so lonely sometimes.
- Wow. Her heartache has lifted. It’s possible.
- There are days I don’t want to get out of bed either.
- I can be free of this?
When the struggles and pain of life visit us we can feel so alone. We can easily shrink back and hide in the midst of our busy lives. Whether it has been sin, shame, or just plain distance from the Lord it is there. We feel disconnected. Discouragement, weariness, even bitterness can creep into our souls and we find ourselves going through the days without the strength, faith and promise of God’s hope in our hearts.
We need fresh wind in our sails--new perspective. We need to be reminded of all that is ours in Jesus. We need to be among friends.
That is why this gathering is named just that. During our time together there will be rich bible teaching, powerful stories, comedic relief and comforting music. There will also be a time of worship and prayer.

Dear Friend,
I have loved having the opportunity to be a guest at so many conferences for the last several years. Something special happens when women come together and share in taking a collective breath from the demands of life. Who doesn’t need a break? We're tired. We're stressed. We often need encouragement and a fresh perspective on life. There is nothing like powerful music and a life-giving message to remind us that there IS hope for our future and that God is not done writing our stories.
Last year I decided to host my own gathering. I have invited some of the best teachers and speakers as my guests for the weekend. The most unique part of this retreat is the intimate environment and the “relaxed” feel of the whole experience. Women are able to let down and allow the Lord to come in ways that only He can. Please join me and bring your friends and family, coworkers and neighbors. We’ll make a memory that will strengthen us and empower us long after our time together is over.
